We are launching a new online FSE course covering low and high voltage, including first aid. The course has been developed for staff working on or near electrical installations, and is available in both Norwegian and English.

Work on and the operation of electrical installations involve a risk of serious personal injury. Consequently, the Regulations on Safety in Work on and Operation of Electrical Installations (FSE) set out requirements for the necessary safety training for personnel covered by the regulations. The training must be carried out at least once every 12 months, and more frequently if the risk conditions or work tasks so require. It is the responsibility of the organisation’s technical manager, operations manager or person in charge of operations to ensure that the training is relevant and tailored to the work being carried out.

With our new FSE course for low and high voltage, participants can complete the theoretical training online, whenever and wherever it suits them.

Who needs FSE training for low and high voltage?
The course is relevant for personnel who work on, operate or carry out tasks on or near electrical installations, where the nature of the work and the risk assessment indicate that this type of FSE training is necessary.

This may include, amongst others:
Electricians and electrical engineering staff
Operations technicians and maintenance staff
Technical staff working with electrical installations
Employees carrying out tasks relating to low- or high-voltage installations

Electrical safety and first aid in the same course

FSE training is about both preventing accidents and knowing how to respond if something goes wrong. The course covers, amongst other things, electrical hazards, risk assessment, safe working practices and emergency response procedures. The first aid section focuses in particular on electrical accidents, electrical injuries, burns and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The course is delivered online and takes approximately four hours. It is available in Norwegian and English, which makes it easier for organisations with multilingual teams to organise the training.

*We also offer FSE courses for trained personnel
Not everyone who requires training in electrical safety is required to carry out electrical work. That is why Instant Kurs also offers a separate FSE course for trained personnel.

This course is intended for employees without an electrical engineering background who are to carry out specific operational tasks in accordance with the organisation’s instructions. This may, for example, involve operating fuses and resetting protective devices, where this is permitted and the employee has received the necessary training and instruction.

The difference between the courses primarily concerns the participant’s role and the tasks they are required to carry out:

FSE low and high voltage: For personnel requiring FSE training tailored to work on or in connection with electrical installations, including relevant tasks within low and high voltage systems.

FSE for instructed personnel: For personnel without electrical expertise who are to carry out specific, limited operational tasks as instructed by the organisation.

The FSE course for instructed personnel is not a substitute for the training required of persons who are to carry out electrical work.
