The Fire Protection Association has now launched a digital version of its checklist for hot work. Previously, this checklist was only available as a paper form, but the new solution makes it easier to use and accessible online. Go directly to the form here: Digital checklist.

What is the checklist?
The checklist is used for all types of hot work – i.e. work with tools and equipment that can generate sparks or heat that pose a fire hazard, such as welding, cutting, and the use of open flames. Before work begins, the checklist must be completed and signed by those involved to document that risk assessments and necessary safety measures have been carried out.

Why is this important?
The use of the checklist is a requirement in the safety regulations for hot work and is part of the systematic fire protection work when carrying out risky work. A digital version makes it easier for those carrying out and responsible for the work to plan, document, and archive completed checks – both before, during, and after the work.

What does this mean for you?
With the new digital solution, the checklist can be completed on a mobile phone, tablet, or PC without having to print the document. This provides a better overview, ensures that all points are assessed, and makes it easier to comply with the requirements of the safety regulations for hot work.

Paper still available
The digital checklist is an optional alternative. The paper version can still be used if desired.
