Once you have completed Module B - Professional Manager - your company can apply to join the “Approved wet room company” scheme. The professional manager plays a key role in ensuring interdisciplinary cooperation in wet room projects. The area of responsibility includes ensuring that all important activities within design, management and execution are taken care of. This involves coordinating the necessary design and construction trades, maintaining a good dialogue with the authorities, the client and other stakeholders, as well as organizing and coordinating quality and HSE systems for the project.
This course covers both the Basic Module and Module B - Professional Manager.
Basic module
The basic module is an interdisciplinary course for anyone who wants more knowledge about wet room construction. The course uses the construction industry’s wet room standard (BVN) as a knowledge base. Suitable for craftsmen, designers, surveyors, builders and others. There are no special admission requirements to participate in the Basic Module.
The course has a scope equivalent to 25 hours and includes:
– presentation of BVN and review of the training requirements
– motivation, damage in wet rooms, background to BVN, scope and validity
– who sets the requirements
– planning of execution
– production control, control routines, documentation
– requirements for materials
– requirements for the construction of wet rooms (main points of the curriculum)
Everyone who completes the Basic Module receives a certificate of participation.
Module B – Management of design and construction
Once you have completed Module B – Professional manager – your company can apply to join the “Approved wet room company” scheme. Being a “Approved wet room company” is an obligation; using certified craftsmen in the execution and the instructions in the Construction Industry’s wet room standard (BVN) is a matter of course.
The course has a scope equivalent to 15 hours and includes:
– project planning/project management
– design of wet rooms
– self-study, group assignments
– execution, handover and use
In addition to the course, an electronic exam will be held in module B. Normal completion time will be 1-2 hours.
The exam also includes topics from the basic module.
The B module must be completed within one year after the basic module has been completed.
Admission requirements
In order to participate in Module B, the Basic Module Wet Room must be completed a maximum of 12 months prior to the start of the course, alternatively you must already have a valid wet room certificate in Module A or Module C.
Those who fulfill the admission requirement for participation in Module B are people with construction/plumbing/electrical engineering education as
– engineer (from an engineering college), civil engineer, civil architect,
– vocational school engineer or master (Norwegian master certificate).
– Other applicants with adequate education and practice may be considered by FFV on a case-by-case basis.
– Applicants with higher education from countries outside the Nordic region must first have their education assessed and approved by NOKUT.

Everyone who has passed the exam in Module B is awarded a course certificate and a wet room certificate for Professional Manager.
The construction industry’s wet room standard on courses
Everyone must have access to the Wet Room Standard online when attending a wet room course.
