Wet room course Basic module and Module A are part of a training package for professionals who will be working on the construction or renovation of wet rooms, such as bathrooms and laundry rooms. The course follows the requirements of the Construction Industry's Wet Room Standard (BVN). Customers have expectations of a craftsman with a wet room certificate. When you become a certified craftsman, it is important that you follow the instructions in the Construction Industry's Wet Room Standard (BVN) when carrying out work in wet rooms.
This course covers both the Basic Module and Module A - Construction.
Basic module
The basic module is an interdisciplinary course for anyone who wants more knowledge about wet room construction. The course uses the construction industry’s wet room standard (BVN) as a knowledge base. Suitable for craftsmen, designers, surveyors, builders and others. There are no special admission requirements to participate in the basic module.
The course has a scope equivalent to 25 hours and includes:
– presentation of BVN and review of the training requirements
– motivation, damage in wet rooms, background to BVN, scope and validity
– who sets the requirements
– planning of execution
– production control, control routines, documentation
– requirements for materials
– requirements for the construction of wet rooms (main points of the curriculum)
Everyone who completes the Basic Module receives a certificate of participation.
Module A – Construction
Customers have expectations of a craftsman with a wet room certificate. When you become a certified craftsman, it is important that you follow the instructions in Byggebranjens våtromsnorm (BVN) when carrying out work in wet rooms.
The course has a scope equivalent to 7 hours and includes:
– damage and causes of damage
– laws, regulations, standards, requirements for execution
– products, approval schemes and requirements
– design of wet rooms
– issues related to the rehabilitation of wet rooms
– checklists
– any final documentation
The course ends with a 2-hour online exam. All courses are related to the subject group the course module is aimed at.
Admission requirements
To participate in Module A, the Basic Module Wet Room must be completed a maximum of 12 months prior to the start of the course, or alternatively you must have a valid wet room certificate in Module B / C.
Those who meet the admission requirements for participation in Module A are persons with a relevant Norwegian/Nordic certificate (or certificate from Poland, Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania approved by NOKUT) and persons with a minimum of 5 years of relevant practice in one of the construction trades acquired in Norway. Practice must be documented.

Apprentices can also take Module A in the last 6 months of the apprenticeship, but will not receive their wet room certificate until the journeyman’s test has been passed and documentation of passing the test has been submitted to FFV.
Course certificate, certificate
Everyone who has passed the exam in Module A is awarded a course certificate and a wet room certificate as a skilled worker for wet rooms within their area of expertise.
The construction industry’s wet room standard on courses
Everyone must have access to the Wet Room Standard online when attending a wet room course.
