Although asbestos was banned in Norway almost 40 years ago, many buildings still contain asbestos-containing materials. This creates challenges for craftsmen such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, especially when it comes to renovating old buildings.

Asbestos was a popular building material from the 1930s due to its durable and weather-resistant properties. However, its use was banned in 1985 after a clear link was established between asbestos exposure and serious diseases, including various types of cancer.

Despite the ban, asbestos materials are still found in many buildings constructed before the ban. Now that many of these buildings are approaching an age where they need to be renovated or demolished, the need for safe and professional handling of asbestos is increasing.
