Online course in the safe use and handling of diisocyanates. This course provides documented training in accordance with regulatory requirements.

With effect from 24 August 2023, mandatory training requirements were introduced for anyone involved in the use or handling of diisocyanates and diisocyanate-containing mixtures and products. Employers must ensure that all employees who use diisocyanates and diisocyanate-containing mixtures and products have received documented training. The course covers the handling and use of diisocyanates for both level 1 and 2 (general and intermediate level training), according to REACH Regulation 2020/1149.

Purpose of the course
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of diisocyanates and diisocyanate-containing mixtures and products, as well as how to establish a safe working environment and protect themselves and others. Throughout the different parts of the course, participants will learn about the potential risks of working with diisocyanates, hazard communication measures (including warning labels, safety data sheets (SDS), chemical registers and instructions for use), risk assessment, preventive safety measures, symptoms of exposure, sensitisation and other topics included in REACH Regulation 2020/1149.

Who does the requirement apply to?
The training requirement applies to anyone who uses diisocyanates and diisocyanate-containing mixtures and products in professional or industrial organisations, and those who supervise this type of work. The requirement applies to employers, employees and the self-employed.

Target group
Anyone who will be using diisocyanates.

Course topics
Part 1 provides an introduction to diisocyanates and their applications, while part 2 addresses the health risks associated with their use. Part 3 deals with risk management measures, and part 4 covers emergency situations and first aid protocols.
